The four-day tournament, held at Parc du Tremblay near Paris, saw Team GB’s open squad comfortably beat the Czech Republic in its opening encounter, before narrowly losing to Canada by 3 matches to 2.

A 3-2 victory over Poland was then followed by defeats against Belgium and Denmark, which resulted in the squad placing 12th.

Meanwhile our women made history by finishing 15th – the highest finish since the introduction of the current roundnet rules.

A win over Japan was followed by a meeting with tournament hosts, and one of the favourites, France, which ended in defeat. Narrow losses to Romania and Finland left a final match-up against Sweden, which ended in a comfortable win for Team GB by 4 nets to 1.

In terms of overall winners, gold medals went to Switzerland in the women’s individual division, Italy in the mixed, USA in the women’s squad and men’s individual divisions, and Germany in the men’s squad division

Our managing director Jason Collard’s eldest son Jack is CEO of British Roundnet.

“Thanks to StudioHIVE’s support we were able to run a full media day for the team, which is something we haven’t been able to do before,” says Jack.

“Everyone loved our kit and we had lots of questions from players from across the world, asking about StudioHIVE due to the company branding. We always trade jerseys at our international tournaments and I think it’s a new record that we managed to trade with 21 other countries.

“It’s certain that the fire has been lit across the squad to push hard for Euros 2027. Meanwhile the roundnet doesn’t stop for us, with the FatFace British national championships taking place in London on 3 and 4 October.”
