About the project
Bath Road, Bristol, Working with our partner Atlas Land, StudioHIVE in joint venture with Bristol United Communities submitted a proposal to work with Bristol City Council to develop one of their under-utilised sites for a new mixed tenure housing scheme. Our scheme was praised by the city council officers and politicians for its design intent and we were shortlisted to the final two before sadly losing out to a strong bid from others.

The scheme was made up of 225 apartments and 30,000 sq ft of mixed commercial space. The site benefited from views across the city and the River Frome. The project looked to facilitate the riverside walk, linking the site to the river at the lower level whilst addressing Bath Road at the upper ground floor level.
The architecture was contemporary and provided 5 residential blocks ranging from 5 stories to 9 stories.

This was competitive tender and sadly we were unable to secure the site, however the design has now informed the current scheme and our design intent demonstrated the correct design solution for the site.
