Greg Reardon Gains Passive House Qualification
Associate Architect Greg Reardon has successfully completed the Passive House course, and he is now a certified Passive House Designer.
Passive House, also known as Passivhaus, is one of the world’s leading energy efficiency standards and construction concepts.
Established by the Passivhaus Institute in Darmstadt, Germany in 1996, Passive House was one of the pioneering concepts for building low-energy houses and today is a leading building standard. The design is focused on making best use of the ‘passive’ influences in a building. Coupled with very high levels of insulation and airtightness, this makes it possible for a passive home to use 90% less energy than a typical dwelling.
StudioHIVE Architects Managing Director Jason Collard commented, “I am very proud of Greg for passing the course. I know it took a lot of hard work and commitment for him to gain this qualification.
This will be a great tool for StudioHIVE Architects, he can bring his new technical skill set to upcoming residential projects.”
